Activities, silent auction, and food begin at 5:00 PM and Jacob's talk starts at 7:30 PM

The event will be held at Rainbow Park Observatory, located at 301 Southern Blvd. behind Rainbow Pool in Rio Rancho.

 Jacob Wemhoner from New Mexico Tech will present an “Introduction to Lightning”. He has designed a new instrument that measures the temperature of lightning strikes.  Analysis of his data will aid in preventing damage to power grids and prevent forest fires.

  There will be an online and in-person silent auction from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.  Family activities including sun and star gazing, weather permitting.  Food will be available for a donation.

Activities begin at 5:00 pm with the Lightning Talk starting at 7:30.  It is free and open to the public.
